@TorusTalk@PamelaJones67@PaulHolden1449@CllrJeanieBell@sthelenscouncil@TorusStHelens Sadly the relationship between St Helens Council representation and Torus is built on mutual benefit for individuals within the parties involved. I feel sorry for the decent Tennants and Police used as pawns to deflect responsibility for the dumping ground policy.
@cladtrap@MrChewie@EOCS_Official@ukcag@NLC_2019 Very sorry to hear that! Yes, I think leaseholders have been so caught up in the extreme stress of building safety crisis that many have not space to even acknowledge there are wider leasehold scams.
Government promised guidance to inform decisions on evacuating high rises if "stay put was no longer tenable" in 2013. But in 2017, the LFB arrived at Grenfell with no idea how and when to do this. This week, the inquiry into the fire asked why: insidehousing.co.uk/insight/grenfe…
Torus claiming green credentials is pure hypocrisy. Demolishing Parr Mount- -Carbon footprint higher for demolition over refurb -More social rents lost, in favour of more expensive options -More pressure on waiting lists @WeAreTorus@davidebaines@sthelensstar@sthelensreport
Tell you what if possible stay away from @WeAreTorus 'social landlords', mate a private landlord wouldn't have me living as scummy as these lot do good lord
Government launches recruitment campaign for adult social care. People are getting very rich from the privatised care sector. Now, when they can't get people to work unsocial hours for min wage, it's the tax payer who funds their recruitment campaign. nursingtimes.net/news/social-ca…
Why we will oppose today’s attempt by the Conservatives to rewrite the Parliamentary standards procedure mid-case 👇 We can’t have a system where if you don’t like the rules you just have them rewritten to suit the government.twitter.com/ThangamMP/stat…4
Are you a shared owner coming to the end of a fixed-rate mortgage, or already on a variable rate? Affected by the building safety crisis? What will interest rate rises mean for you? Please get in touch with melissa.lawford@telegraph.co.uk. @MelissaLawford
I've noticed a lot of professionals (social workers, housing officers) comparing people's personal situations to their own- "oh yeaaah I get damp in my privately owned 3-bed end-of-terrace house too!" STOP. IT.

Renters Reform white paper now not till ‘2022’ some point. So no chance of abolition of section 21 until 2023 at the very least. Was promised in 2019. propertyindustryeye.com/white-paper-on…
A cladding-hit flat owner who spoke out against her £101k repair bill is trolled online by a GOVERNMENT agency worker mol.im/a/10136005 via @MailOnline
Today I had notification that our buildings insurance has more than quadrupled. @michaelgove - when will insurance companies be regulated to cap some of this nonsense? The buildings the same as it was 7 years ago yet the cost has now risen because of a form.
Positives of a great repair operative coming out the focus group are the operatives are being courtesy, respectful, being covid respectful and great at tidying up when finished. twitter.com/ScrutinySteve/…
That is at the upper end of the tax rate we were expecting, but no new money to fix unsafe buildings. 31 housebuilders made that much annual profit in 2019
Not a lot that's new there. Previously announced £11.5bn for affordable housing; £1.8bn to develop brownfield sites; £5bn for Building Safety Fund; and £640m to reduce homelessness. Developer tax will apply for those with more than £25m annual profit at a rate of 4%.
As we approach Rememberance Day, a beautiful FB memory to share ❤ I am not a badge of honour, I am not a racist smear, I am not a fashion statement, To be worn but once a year, I am not glorification Of conflict or of war. I am not a paper ornament A token, I am more. Cont'd
This week I’ve seen tweets from 3 MPs calling people who have given them mild criticism “trolls” and saying the criticism is “abuse” and “spreading hatred”. This is absurd. Criticism does not = abuse. If we are unable to hold MPs to account, then what hope do we have?
"... first-time buyers and international buyers are increasingly aware of the pitfalls of buying a leasehold property, the tenure of most flats in the UK", says Rufus Williams of estate agent @PPartnershipLon.
1/4 Hello @BerkeleyGroupUK. Just to let you know I nearly fell through one of your floors this morning. The floor you built 20 years ago has no batons holding it up. There's only air between the floor boards and the room underneath. So much for "Designed for Life".
No one attended or called me back from pest control. Rats still in the block & walls. ASB tenant tampered with lift which caused it to go out of service, trapped someone in there and LFB had to attend to rescue the person from inside the lift. @Housing4Women do not care about us
@Housing4Women It was 15 Feb 2021 H4W sent a contractor unannounced with a dehumidifier. According to Annie the housing officer, the company that provides dehumidifiers are paid more than £100per week, per property, per dehumidifier. The dehumidifier was collected on 30 April, again unannounced
@Housing4Women@vickyfoxcroft@HousingOmbuds@RSHEngland@3markcooper@ICOnews Zaiba, Mandy, Elly, Justina & one other staff member discussed my case, name & address in detail with this tenant who has nothing to do with me, who I’ve never met & who doesn’t live here. All this happened without my knowledge or consent.
